Hi, I’m Allison (she/her)
You do not need to have it all figured out to come here. Maybe you are feeling stuck, overwhelmed, deep in grief, or just carrying more than you know how to hold. You might not even know exactly what you need yet...and that's okay! In our work together, we will make space for all of it. Over time, you will notice a growing sense of clarity, more ease in your body, and a deeper trust in yourself. All small shifts that open the door to new possibilities.
My approach to counselling is rooted in your own strengths and capacity for growth. I believe in care that is brave, relational and unafraid of complexity. I draw from an integrative approach, combining modalities such as (intersectional) Feminist Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Existential Therapy, and more.
By working collaboratively, we will explore what is meaningful to you and move toward the direction you're hoping to grow into, at a pace that feels right for you. My time as a hospice volunteer and training as an end-of-life doula has shaped how I show up as a therapist. I'm comfortable sitting with life transitions and the big, messy parts of being human.
There's room for acceptance of where you are and hope for what's possible.
A Bit About Me…
I identify as a queer, cisgender (she/her) woman. As a white settler, I endeavour for continued accountability to how my experience and identities show up in the therapy space. I have a Masters degree in Counselling (MC) and work as a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) on Vancouver Island. Outside of work, I spend my time near the ocean, baking new delicious things, and writing poetry.
I love to support folks who…
Are moving through grief, loss, or a major life transition and are looking for ways to carry it with more meaning and compassion
Don't see healing as linear and are looking for a introspective, supportive environment
Feel "stuck" within depression &/or anxiety
Want to explore how to shed roles that no longer fit
Do not want to feel pathologized, but do want to see if they can feel different
Areas of Practice
I have experience working with people of diverse backgrounds who are seeking support for the following:
Grief and Loss (including Ecological Grief and Systemic Grief)
Suicidal Ideation
Self-Esteem and Self-Identity
Existential Questions and Dread
